Decorating for Chanukah 2019
Chanukah is one of my favorite holidays of the year! Since it usually falls around the same time as Christmas, there is a holiday spirit in the air wherever you go! Although we don’t have a Christmas tree or an Elf on the Shelf, I love to go all out when it comes to decorating my home for Chanukah. That said, finding stylish Chanukah decor that I actually like is not always easy. That’s why I am so excited to partner with Peace Love Light Shop to decorate for Chanukah this year! Their shop has the best selection of contemporary Jewish decor!
I went with a pretty neutral color palette this year – metallic silver and gold with a few pops of blue and green. The mantle is the first thing you see when you walk into our apartment, so I wanted to make the focal point extra special. I put my silver botanical leaf menorah to the right of the mirror and I used these blue and white candles for a subtle pop of color. To the left of the mirror, I placed this wooden “Happy Hanukkah” sign with gorgeous gold calligraphy. On each end, I added some mercury glass candlesticks and this glass hurricane vase with these cute gold dreidels inside. The item that might be my new favorite piece of decor is this burlap garland banner with alternating glitter menorahs and khaki-colored dreidels that is hanging over the fireplace. The banner is a high quality white, painted burlap that goes beautifully with any kind of style!
For the tablescape, I tried to mix a couple of different styles that mirrored the mantle - a little bit rustic and a little bit glam. I paired my sparkly silver tablecloth with a burlap table runner for a glam rustic look. in the center of the table, I included some white hydrangeas and faux eucalyptus leaves for a small pop of color. Each of the table settings had a place card and a grey holiday napkin that says “Happy Hanukkah” and “Love & Light” with a beautiful gold foil menorah on top. The place cards are so classy and have a small gold dreidel in the corner. I pulled in the gold from the place cards and napkins by scattering some gold dreidels along the table runner and added some extra sparkle with these mercury glass votives.
I just love the holidays… it brings together family and friends, and now that I have little kids of my own, it makes it even more special!
