Clothing Swap with Fashion Blogger Petite Rachelle!
I don’t go clothing shopping that often. I find combing through the racks at big department stores overwhelming, I end up doing more “window shopping” than actually getting anything at small boutiques, and I don’t love online shopping since I prefer to try things on before I buy them. Growing up, my sister and I shared all of our clothes with each other and I was always swapping pieces with my girlfriends from school and camp, which was a fun way to freshen up my wardrobe without the hassle of shopping. That is why I absolutely love the semi-annual Petite Swap & Shop, a curated clothing swap hosted by my friend and stylist Rachel Klein of Petite Rachelle!
One of the reasons Rachel started these epic clothing swaps was to help women bring new life to old clothing, something I totally support. I lived in Boston during her first swap and I was actually 38 weeks pregnant at the fall 2016 swap (and since Adina arrived a week before her due date, it was just 3 days before she was born!) but managed to make it to both of them. Yesterday was the spring 2017 Petite Swap & Shop and it did not disappoint!
Attendees were asked to bring a few items to contribute to the swap and then shop to their heart’s content. Rachel received tons of awesome clothes, shoes, and accessories! The timing of the event was perfect, since many of us had recently done spring cleaning and were ready to find new homes for the things we no longer wear. The swap was so much fun - Rachel had the most beautiful flower arrangements, delicious small bites, stylish decorations, and cutest giveaways for everyone! And as if that wasn’t enough, Rachel personally donates all of the leftover items to Housing Works, an amazing organization that funds a full range of lifesaving services for homeless and low income men, women, and children living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. Her motto is “look good, feel good, do good.” l feel great after yesterday and I can’t wait for the next swap!
