Adina Lila's Nursery!
I am so excited to share my daughter Adina Lila’s nursery! Michael and I did not find out the baby’s gender until Adina was born so when we were preparing her room, we kept things pretty gender neutral. I was also a bit superstitious during my pregnancy so I didn’t decorate her room beyond the basic furniture pieces. For the first few months after she was born, she slept in a bassinet in our room. But once it was time for her to start sleeping in her crib, I put the finishing touches on her room and I am so happy with how it turned out!
My goal was to create a fun, functional, and beautiful space for Adina. The mirror above the changing table and the frames above the futon are from Target and I got the art prints from Etsy. Although I love the character and charm of our brownstone apartment, it also comes with some quirks, like the shape and size of the rooms. Because of the unique shape of her room, it was important to be thoughtful about the furniture choices and get pieces that were multipurpose. The dresser doubles as a changing table, the bookcase has storage for Adina’s toys, and the futon becomes a queen size bed, which is perfect for when grandma and grandpa come to visit! All three pieces are from Ikea. I love how much natural light her room gets! We installed blackout curtains (perfect for nap time!) from Ikea and completed the room with a gray and white Moroccan trellis rug.
I love how it came together! Hope you enjoyed it!
Love, Ariel
