Winter Stoops: Festive Holiday Homes
I don't know about you, but I find the week between Christmas and New Year's can be a little bit of a downer. Here in NYC, the temperature has significantly dropped and it is freezing outside! Not to mention, it gets dark so early! Unless you're one of the lucky ones who've escaped to a tropical destination over this winter break, the rest of us are bundled up to the max or stuck inside. But there is something really special about this season that makes it one of my favorite times of year here in Brooklyn.... the festive stoops! If you've been following me on Instagram for a little while, I'm sure you noticed the pictures and videos I've been sharing on my feed and in my stories of the beautifully decorated homes in my neighborhood. Despite the cold weather, everyday as I stroll through the streets where I live, I stop dead in my tracks and am in awe of the gorgeous wreaths and lights. Below are a few snapshots of my favorite exterior decorations for the winter holidays:
I tried photographing several of these stoops at night, when the twinkling lights illuminated the windows, but none of my photos do the homes justice. I just love the garland lining the stoop stairs and the unique wreaths on the brownstone doors. And of course, nothing says winter stoop magic like fresh snowfall! I was lucky enough to snap a few shots of these festive snoops while it was snowing and it was so gorgeous! These stunning exteriors make going outside in the freezing temps not only tolerable, but fun! Which one of these beauties is your favorite? Let me know in the comments on this post!
