Woodloch Resort Travel Diary
We had the pleasure of spending the first weekend in October at Woodloch Resort in the Pocono Mountains. We were so grateful to get away in nature for a few days as a family! This was our first time staying at a hotel since February and safety is very important to us. Woodloch took many special measures and put new operating procedures in place in order to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff, which gave me so much peace of mind.
Voted the #1 family resort in the United States by USA Today, Woodloch is built on the concept of bringing loved ones together, spending time with one another, + creating memories to last a lifetime. They offer an array of home-grown, team-building type activities for families, a nostalgic, back-to-basics environment and a truly unique brand of hospitality. Between that + the breathtaking natural surroundings, I can see why guests leave this place with a renewed sense of connection with their own families.
We stayed in a lovely room with a view of beautiful Lake Teedyuskung. It was magical waking up to the fall foliage on the trees surrounding the lake! There are tons of activities and amenities for kids all year long. There’s an amazing outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, outdoor splash pad, indoor pool, indoor adult hot tub, indoor kids hot tub, indoor toddler pool, and indoor splash pad/water park! There’s something for everyone for any time of year! The girls got their wish and swam their hearts out at the Woodloch Water Wonder World. It is a full on water park with everything a kid could want! There is also a year-round Kids Splash Zone, complete with water guns, mini-slides, bubbles, and fountains.
Adina and Noa also enjoyed riding kiddie cars, going on the go karts, doing bumper boats, going paddle boating on the lake, playing in the arcade and indoor jungle gym, and riding a pony and playing with the animals in the petting zoo. And my husband got to do archery and try out the rifle range, while we cheered him on! There is also mini golf and a climbing wall that we’d love to try when the girls are a little bit older.
The meals were so yummy, with plenty of options for everyone! The kids especially loved having dessert everyday ;) There are several different meal options (you choose what’s included in your plan) and you have the choice of eating in the dining room (all tables are very spaced out and you are at the same table during your whole stay) or you can place an order to have your meal to go and eat somewhere else on the property. Woodloch has an app where you can access daily food menus, sign up for daily activities and nightly entertainment, and view maps of the property and more.
We got to experience the beauty of the lake up close with a private boat tour. The captain also shared some of the history of Woodloch and the Pocono mountains with us! On our last day, the girls had fun riding ponies and spending time with the cute animals in the petting zoo.
With everything going on in the world these past few months, I sometimes wish I could just escape it all. ✨ This trip was the perfect getaway that we didn’t know we needed! 🍁 I know many people are weary to travel right now, but everything at Woodloch is so spread out, with limits on capacity for all their indoor and outdoor spaces. I was so impressed with all of the updates they’ve put in place so guests can safely enjoy everything the resort has to offer. You can see more from our trip in the Woodloch highlight on my Instagram and make sure to head to their website to find out more about Woodloch and all the memories you can make there with your family!
