There are many ways to show Jewish pride - practicing Jewish customs and rituals, cooking Jewish foods, and celebrating Jewish holidays to name a few. One way I love to proudly display my Judaism is by wearing Jewish jewelry. I especially love jewelry that has a meaning and tells a story. Over the years I have curated many Jewish pieces in my jewelry collection that I still wear on a daily basis. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings that don a Star of David, “chai”, Hebrew, hamsas and more. As a proud Jew, I am outraged by the recent rise in anti-Semitic rhetoric across social media. This blatant anti-Semitism and the lack of a prompt response by the platforms themselves has people reacting in different ways. Some have chosen to “boycott” the platforms by going silent for 48 hours. I have chosen to take this as an opportunity to share resources that educate about anti-Semitism and how we can fight it (see the highlight in my Instagram profile) and to amplify Jewish voices. I specifically want to highlight Jewish content creators and voices by sharing some of my favorite Jewish accounts on Instagram. I tried to list them by category (but of course some don’t fit exactly into any one category.) As we enter the new year (and the new decade) I was inspired me to reflect on the past ten years and how the twists and turns of life have brought me to where I am today. FYI: this may be my longest blog post to date…you’ve been warned! Ok…here we go!

Yesterday was Tu B'Shvat, a Jewish holiday that is also known as the "New Year for Trees." In anticipation of the holiday this year, I began thinking about what it means to me now as an adult. I'd like to think of myself as a pretty environmentally conscious person - after all, I bring my own canvas bags to the grocery store and carry around a reusable water bottle. But there is so much room for me to grow and live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. I'm sharing three easy, eco-friendly lifestyle changes I am resolving to do this year in the spirit of Tu B'shvat:

This week marks my mine and Michael’s 8 year anniversary of being together. 8 whole years! So much has happened in that time. We met when we were just a couple of bright-eyed, bushy-tailed 21-year-olds. Even though we’re now “grown ups,” I still see him as the cute guy who asked me to coffee on campus. In honor of our anniversary, I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane to see where it all began...

What a year! As we approach New Year's Eve, I can't help but to reflect and share some of my most memorable moments from this past year

I think it’s safe to say that this past year was one of the fastest ones of my life! Once you have a child, I feel like the way you measure time changes….ever since Adina was born, I view a month or a year so differently. I often hear other people share that they wish they could freeze time or make time slow down or stand still. I feel the same way! My growing toddler was just a squishy newborn a few months ago - how has time flown by so fast?! Well sadly I can’t freeze time, but I can try to savor and capture these moments as much as I can now. I snap pictures and videos everyday on my phone, but this fall we had professional family photos taken and I love how they turned out!

As a new mom, navigating life in the city with a 1-year-old, my family’s home is something that is on my mind all the time. I would be lying if I said I didn’t crave more space. From strollers, to car seats, to furniture, to toys, to bottles and all the other gear - the list goes on and on… it is incredible how much “stuff” you accumulate when you have a child. I think most parents can relate, right? We’re currently renting our 2-bedroom apartment and it works for our family now, but it is not our forever home. I wanted to learn more about the Brooklyn real estate market from a pro. A couple of weeks ago, I met up for coffee with native Brooklynite and real estate agent Noel Borbon to learn more.

In honor of our anniversary, I wanted to share memories from our wedding day three years ago. In some ways, it feels like just yesterday! It’s crazy how much can change in three years - new city, new jobs, new baby and more! The highlight for both of us was celebrating and starting this new chapter surrounded by friends and family who we love. I married my best friend and had the time of my life. Our parents’ heartfelt speeches, the dress, the weather, the groom… to me, it was all perfect. Right out of a fairy tale. Marrying Michael is the best decision I’ve ever made and I’d do it over a million times!

It may be a recipe, a store, a product, or even design inspiration. Friday’s are my favorite day of the week, so why not kick off the weekend with beauty found all around?!

I don’t go clothing shopping that often. I find combing through the racks at big department stores overwhelming, I end up doing more “window shopping” than actually getting anything at small boutiques, and I don’t love online shopping since I prefer to try things on before I buy them. Growing up, my sister and I shared all of our clothes with each other and I was always swapping pieces with my girlfriends from school and camp, which was a fun way to freshen up my wardrobe without the hassle of shopping. That is why I absolutely love the semi-annual Petite Swap & Shop, a curated clothing swap hosted by my friend and stylist Rachel Klein of Petite Rachelle!
